For over 25 years, owner Kevin a.k.a. SHIFTY, has built a solid reputation as the Bay Area's most trusted bicycle mechanic and salesman. SHIFTY is committed to providing quality service to the community. He believes that a reputation as an honest and reliable mechanic is the recipe for success. While others seek to profit by cutting corners, or recommending unnecessary services to customers, SHIFTY believes that a good reputation and consistent service will reap bigger profits in the long run. By being trustworthy, SHIFTY believes that he will enjoy a long term profitable business that serves the community. SHIFTY grew up in Northern California, helping his father repair family vehicles and being a handyman for family rental homes. In 1988 SHIFTY began working for Specialized Bicycles in Morgan Hill at the age of 18 and has developed a deep knowledge and understanding of bicycles. In 1995 he received a certificate of completion from United Bicycle Institute. SHIFTY has managed and worked for three local bike shops. He pioneered the cycling division for Fox Racing for seven years as the #1 inside and outside sales representative. He has also worked as a representative for White Brothers, Softride, Intense Cycles, AXO, Flesh Gear, and Crusty Demons of Dirt videos.
SHIFTY and his wife, Christie, have been married since June 2000, had their first son, Troy, in 2006 and their second son, Reese in 2010. Since then the boys have both fallen in love with anything bikes and have both started BMX racing. SHIFTY also is an avid cyclist and has a riding group on Strava. He likes to ride the mountains of Santa Cruz and Henry Coe Park, along with some weekly road bike rides on occasion. Any other down time is spent volunteering his time and expertise around his local and nearby communities.SHIFTY continues to thrive in the Bay Area as a
